1. About This Policy

This privacy policy explains what information the Law Offices of Andrew Cargill collects through this website, how the firm uses that information, and the choices visitors have. The firm is committed to protecting the privacy of website visitors and of clients.

The website is operated by Andrew Cargill of the Law Offices of Andrew Cargill, located at 9050 Pines Blvd., Suite 450-1, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024.

2. Information the Website Collects

The website collects information in two ways.

Information you provide directly. When you submit the contact form, you provide your name, email address, phone number, and a description of your legal matter. You may also provide information when you call the office or send email to the firm.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site automatically collects basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, and the website you came from. This information is collected through standard web server logs and is used to monitor site performance, prevent abuse, and improve the website.

The website does not require visitors to create accounts. The website does not have public comments. The website does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

3. How the Firm Uses Your Information

Information you submit through the contact form or by email is used to:

  • Respond to your inquiry
  • Run a conflict-of-interest check before any representation begins
  • Determine whether the firm can assist with your matter
  • Communicate with you about scheduling a consultation

The firm does not sell, rent, or trade your information. The firm does not use your information for advertising or marketing to third parties.

4. Information Submitted Before an Attorney-Client Relationship Exists

Information you submit through the contact form, by email, or by phone before a written representation agreement is signed is not protected by the attorney-client privilege. This is explained in detail on the firm’s Legal Disclaimer page, Section 3.

Please do not send confidential or sensitive details about your matter until the firm has confirmed it can represent you and a written representation agreement has been signed.

5. Email Is Not Secure

Email sent over the internet is not a secure form of communication. The firm cannot guarantee the confidentiality of information you send by email or through the website contact form before a representation agreement is in place. For sensitive matters, please call the office at (954) 237-1782 to arrange a more secure method of communication.

6. Who Sees Your Information

Information you submit to the firm is seen by Andrew Cargill and any authorized staff who assist with reviewing inquiries and conflict checks. The firm does not share your information with third parties except as required by law, as necessary to provide legal services (for example, filing documents with a court or agency on your behalf if you become a client), or with your express permission.

7. How Long the Firm Keeps Your Information

Contact form submissions and related correspondence are retained for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and to maintain the firm’s records, generally consistent with the Florida Bar’s record-retention guidelines. If you become a client, your file is retained in accordance with the firm’s client file retention policy and applicable Florida Bar rules.

8. Cookies and Tracking

The website uses standard cookies necessary for the site to function, such as session cookies that remember you within a single visit. The website may also use basic analytics to understand how visitors use the site (which pages are most visited, average time on page, and so on). Analytics do not identify you personally.

Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or to be notified when a cookie is being sent. If you refuse cookies, some parts of the website may not function as intended.

9. Third-Party Services

The website is hosted by Bluehost. The website may link to third-party services such as the firm’s Google Business Profile, Avvo, Justia, or Martindale-Hubbell. When you click those links, the third-party site’s privacy policy applies, not this one.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information the firm holds about you. To make a request, contact the firm using the information below.

The firm will respond to verifiable requests within the time required by applicable law. Some information cannot be deleted if the firm is required to keep it for legal, regulatory, or professional-responsibility reasons.

11. Changes to This Policy

The firm may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was most recently revised.
